CONTEMPORARY: Sabrina Rowan Hamilton
The artist Sabrina Rowan Hamilton, being charged with the role of one of life's interpreters, produces paintings that bring into the light of conscious awakening that which is hidden. These are paintings that engage the senses at a spiritual level, for they chart a journey of profound inner transformation.
Inspired by the world around her, these powerful and intuitive paintings depict an inner journey of turning darkness into light, of finding order within chaos. Whether they are the bold architectural studies of urban life, the colourful and atmospheric landscapes of Morocco or the sensual sombre women as seen in her earlier work, these are paintings that tell in part Rowan Hamilton's own story of abandonment and her search to establish a safe place called home.
